TAIZE
4th Sunday of the month 6:30-7:30pm
Taizé is named for a religious community in France founded by Brother Roger. In honor of his grandmother, it is dedicated to peace through the reconciliation of all peoples of the world. For many people the name "Taizé" evokes a certain style of singing that has become popular in many churches, retreat centers, campus parishes and even seminaries. For some, the word suggests retreat from the busy-ness of the world in order to focus on God. The Taizé service is ecumenical – persons of all faiths are invited.
As peacemakers we are non-combatants. We are invited to be peace – to fill our consciousness with peace – a peace that transcends circumstance – so that for humanity can experience peace.
This is a time of remembering. Remembrance begins with deep, personal identification. It begins with remembering our Oneness with all of God’s creation – our Oneness with our brothers and sisters everywhere. Remembrance is a sacred moment when we focus on the light of the eternal moment.
